AB Grigeo Klaipėda is happy to be able to contribute to the assistance to Klaipėda medical doctors, who received the third batch of protective equipment last week. Disposable gowns, protective overalls, goggles, shoe covers, respirators and medical masks are expected to help the physicians to stay safe and continue their heroic fight against the COVID-19 pandemic that has paralysed the world.
“We are excited and grateful. The support from business that has reached us is very necessary and important so that medics, who are facing danger every day, feel safe,” said Saulius Dabravalskis, Chief Doctor of Klaipėda Seamen’s Health Care Centre, which organises the work of the Fever Clinic.
The protective equipment for the medical doctors was purchased for the funds donated by the country’s businesses, which were organised by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists. The collected amount, which amounted to more than EUR 423,000, was used to buy equipment that was distributed to doctors throughout Lithuania, and almost EUR 45,000 was spent on purchasing the equipment for the health care facilities of the port city. AB Grigeo Klaipėda contributed to the support by allocating EUR 10,000.
We are glad that we were able to contribute both financially and physically, by storing the equipment and otherwise taking care of its final delivery to the doctors. We express our sincere thanks to these heroes and wish them victory in this fight as soon as possible,” says Tomas Eikinas, Managing Director of AB Grigeo Klaipėda.
